Ambulance Wala ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Ambulance Wala mobile application and the Ambulance Wala Driver driver application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services.
By using our applications, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.
2. Information We Collect
Personal Information
- Name, phone number, and email address
- Medical profile data (blood type, allergies, medical conditions)
- Payment information (Easypaisa/JazzCash account details)
- Government-issued identification (for drivers)
Location Data
We collect location data differently for the patient app (Ambulance Wala) and the driver app (Ambulance Wala Driver). See "Location Permissions: Foreground & Background Use" below for full details.
- Patient app: Real-time GPS location only while the app is open and you are requesting or tracking an ambulance. Saved addresses and frequently visited locations you choose to store.
- Driver app: Real-time GPS location in the foreground while the app is open, and in the background while you are set to "Online" (on duty), so dispatch and the matched patient can see your live position during an emergency response.
- Route information for completed rides.
Usage Data
- App usage patterns and interaction data
- Device information (model, OS version, unique identifiers)
- Crash reports and performance data
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain our ambulance dispatch service
- Match patients with available ambulance drivers
- Enable real-time tracking of ambulance location
- Continuously track on-duty drivers' location, in the foreground and background, in order to dispatch ambulances and provide patients with accurate live ETAs
- Display the persistent Android foreground-service notification required by the operating system while background location is in use
- Share critical medical information with emergency responders
- Process payments and maintain transaction records
- Improve our services and develop new features
- Communicate important service updates
- Ensure safety and security for all users
4. Location Permissions: Foreground & Background Use
Because Ambulance Wala coordinates emergency medical transport, accurate and continuous location data from on-duty drivers is essential. This section explains exactly when and why we access location, in line with Google Play and Apple App Store disclosure requirements.
Patient App (Ambulance Wala)
- Foreground only. The patient app accesses precise (GPS) and approximate location only while the app is open and you are actively requesting, tracking, or completing a ride.
- The patient app does not collect location in the background.
Driver App (Ambulance Wala Driver)
- Foreground location is collected while the driver app is open, to display your position on the map and to navigate you to the patient pickup and destination.
- Background location is collected only while you are set to "Online" (on duty). It allows dispatch and the matched patient to see your live ambulance position even when the app is in the background or the device screen is off — a requirement for reliable emergency response.
- Background location collection stops as soon as you switch to "Offline" or sign out.
- While background location is in use, the Android operating system displays a persistent foreground-service notification so you always know tracking is active.
- Location data is transmitted over an encrypted connection to our Convex backend and is shared with the matched patient during an active ride and with our dispatch operations team. We do not sell location data to third parties and do not use it for advertising.
- You can revoke foreground or background location permission at any time from your device's system settings. Revoking location permission will prevent you from going Online and from accepting ride requests.
5. Information Sharing
We may share your information with:
- Ambulance drivers: Your pickup location, destination, and medical profile are shared with assigned drivers for emergency response.
- Hospital facilities: Medical profile data may be shared with receiving hospitals to ensure continuity of care.
- Payment processors: Transaction data is shared with Easypaisa/JazzCash for payment processing.
- Law enforcement: When required by Pakistani law or to protect the safety of our users.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Ride history and transaction records are retained for a minimum of 3 years in compliance with Pakistani regulations. You may request deletion of your account at any time.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access and review your personal information
- Update or correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt out of non-essential communications
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
9. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
